Synopsis of "Waves of Freedom"

1947, New York, and Paul Kaye gets a strange phone call:  "Paul, do you want to save your people, because if so, we want you to ferry boats from the USA to Palestine?  But if the British catch you, they'll hang you!"

So begins the wild adventures of 27 other crazy Americans as they sail a ramshackle boat to Europe, pick up 1500 displaced Jews and attempt to take them to Palestine. On the way they fight three British navy destroyers, are imprisoned in Cyprus, dig an escape tunnel, and blow up a British boat. On arrival back in New York, they are then pursued by the FBI.

Commenting on the film the Jerusalem Report wrote:

"The adventures of these brave men, who helped secure the birth of the State of Israel, seems straight out of Hollywood. Their valiant exploits can only be compared to those of Erroll Flynn"

Dr Alan Rosenthal from the Hebrew University and the British Israeli producer-director of the film, will be present at the showing to answer questions.

He is currently in Australia to film "To the Penal Colony - the true story of Ikey Solomon."
